With the take-over by Helios Dr. Bulle GmbH & Co. KG of the thermos jug manufacturer MARKUTEC on 01.01.2023, a further major producer in the branch is now also headquartered in Bestenheid.
MARKUTEC was founded in Marktheidenfeld in 1990 and since then has been manufacturing thermos jugs and flasks, primarily for the export market. All the products are exclusively “Made in Germany”. The MARKUTEC brand models are characterised by quality, optimum value for money and reliable performance.
MARKUTEC occupies a strong position among customers in the Middle East as well as in some European countries and, in the future, will be managed alongside the Helios brand. “As a result of the synergy effects, we anticipate a long-term strengthening of both brands. In addition, the acquisition allows us to further develop our positive standing in the highly-competitive market for vacuum flasks,” say the two Managing Directors of the new MARKUTEC Germany GmbH, Michael Oetzel and Christoph Bauer. Overall, the acquisition will strengthen the Wertheim location and lead to the creation of new jobs.
Helios, founded in 1909 in Ilmenau, has been based in Wertheim-Bestenheid since 1954. The company sees itself as the market leader in the professional segment for hotels, hospitals and retirement homes. With an export quota of approx. 50%, all regions of the world are supplied. A 100% subsidiary in the Czech Republic, where almost all the required semi-finished plastic parts are manufactured, ensures a high degree of independence from external suppliers and guarantees a high level of delivery readiness, even in turbulent times. The final assembly of most of the insulated jugs of the Helios brand then takes place in Germany - Made in Wertheim.
